ACTS WANTED FOR 2025 COMEDY FESTIVAL AT BREAD AND ROSES THEATRE
Scratch 'n' Sniff Sign-Up!
We
(The Defectors) are looking for some amazing acts to kick up a stink at our upcoming Scratch 'n' Sniff shows!
Our semi-regular comedy-oriented variety night welcomes any performers who want to try out new material, blow the dust off old material, and/or plug a show/project they're doing (be it stand-up, music, sketches, monologues or anything else...) in front of a fun and friendly audience in a great community-led fringe theatre (The Bread & Roses, Clapham).
If you have around 10 minutes worth of exciting material you're dying to waft into the world, then this is the night for you. Not everything has to be purely funny of course, but it's worth bearing in mind that most of the content will be! Don't worry about something being too 'out there' - we are very open minded (and nostriled). Our aim is simply to give our audiences a whiff of the incredible local talent that's been hiding right under their nose, which could be YOU!
Finally, at our shows we encourage donations from our audiences on the door, and anything donated here will be split equally between all the performers.
If you would be interested in performing, please could you tell us a little more about yourself and your act, and we will get in touch ASAP to see if we can get a slot sorted for you. If you have any further questions, simply submit
this form and feel free to check in with us once we get in touch or send us an email at defectorscomedy@gmail.com and one of the team will get back to you!
MONOLOGUES wanted for RAISE THE VIBRATION at BREAD & ROSES THEATRE
We’re looking for monologues or spoken word pieces by women (cis & trans), nb or gender fluid performers or writers to help us Raise the Vibration!
Raise the Vibration has replaced our annual Vagina Monologues event in-line with vday.org so we can foreground new voices in the conversation around ending violence against women (cisgender and transgender), those who hold fluid identities, nonbinary people, girls and the planet.
Submissions can form any part of your experience around sexual, physical, racial, economic, political, socio-cultural, ideological and climate crisis violence.
How to submit:
Writers: submit in writing or audio to be cast by Bread & Roses team
Writer/performers: submit via video submission (you performing your piece)
Work must be no longer than 10 minutes and is limited to one submission per person.
This is an artistic rising and all participation is voluntary as per V-DAY.org rules and guidelines, all proceeds to @refugecharity
